Bank DBS Indonesia bridges SMI to issue global bonds worth US$ 300 million

PT Bank DBS Indonesia helped manage PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI) in the form of global bonds.

Here, Bank DBS Indonesia acts as a bridge between Bank DBS Singapore as the Joint Lead Manager to support PT SMI through the issuance of global bonds amounting to US$ 300 million.

PT SMI as a Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) under the coordination of the Ministry of Finance, has a special mandate to support the acceleration of national development.

PT SMI has been a partner of Bank DBS Indonesia since February 2020 through the provision of loan facilities worth IDR 500 billion with a period of one year. This facility was extended with the same amount of credit in the following year, and this fund was used for working capital and short-term liquidity needs.

Bank DBS Indonesia, Kunardy Lie said, the bank has helped growth in the infrastructure and financial technology sector, Bank DBS Indonesia acted as a mediator between DBS Singapore as the bond issuer and PT SMI.

"With the ongoing economic recovery arrangement, as well as being supported by several sectors that are experiencing strategic growth and have good resilience, in the future we want to focus on adding services and a diverse portfolio to cover more industrial sectors," he said in a written statement. received by Kontan.co.id on Monday (6/12).

President Director of PT SMI Edwin Syahruzad stated, this cooperation agreement reflects that PT SMI has a good predicate and reputation. He said that this collaboration is also proof that the infrastructure development sector in Indonesia has resilience or so that it will continue to be a strategic sector in the country.

"We hope that this synergy can further strengthen the shared vision and mission in accelerating infrastructure development in Indonesia, as well as strengthen PT SMI's steps as a Development Financial Institution (DFI)," he concluded.
