Campaigns to reduce plastic waste in Indonesia can be born in creative ways, one of which is through the "Against Plastic" Comic Strip competition.
This competition was held by PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) and Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), for young Indonesians aged 18-25 years in the period 18 July-6 August 2021.
Through Comic Strip works from young people, it is hoped that various works can be born that can spark real changes in society, starting from the family and household spheres.
In the 3-week period of the competition, more than 300 participants have registered by uploading their work on Instagram, using the hashtags #KamuPunyaPeran #MelawanPlastik dan #ComicStripCompetition.
Now the series of events has entered its peak time, namely through the Comic Strip "Against Plastic" Coaching Clinic and Awarding, which was held on Thursday (26/8) at 13.30 WIB.
The event was held virtually by presenting speakers Beng Rahadian (Indonesian comic artist), Emmanuel Lameire (French comic artist), Darwin Trisna Djajawinata (Director of PT SMI), Emmanuel Baudran (Director of AFD), and Dr. Stephane Dovert (Director of the Institut Francais d'Indonesie, French Embassy to Indonesia).
In this event, participants who have uploaded their work can join the Coaching Clinic, can join a sharing session and ask two comic artists directly about the creative process of making comics.
In addition, the competition committee will also announce the best winners of the "Against Plastic" Comic Strip competition which have been selected by the Jury.
