Encouraging Sustainability in Regional Development, PT SMI Funds Infrastructure in South Kalimantan and Bengkulu

PT SMI's efforts as one of the Special Mission Vehicles of Ministry of Finance (Ministry of Finance's SMV) in encouraging regional infrastructure development continues. During its 10 years of existence, PT SMI has supported 25 Regional Governments in municipal financing and currently PT SMI is increasing its support by providing financing facilities to 2 new Local Governments, namely the Banjarbaru City Government, South Kalimantan and the Kepahiang Regency Government, Bengkulu. In this collaboration, PT SMI supports Kepahiang Regency Government by financing the increase of 4 regency road sections and 2 bridges with a total funding of Rp59.9 billion which is targeted to be completed by 2020. In this project, PT SMI also contributes to project preparation (Detailed Engineering Design or DED Project) through the Regional Infrastructure Development Fund - Project Development Facility scheme (RIDF-PDF). Meanwhile, PT SMI also supported the Banjarbaru City Government by financing the construction of a modern market with a financing value of Rp104.5 billion. The market which is targeted to be completed in 2020 will increase capacity from 569 to 819 traders. PT SMI through the Municipal Financing Division has provided financing facilities of Rp4.4 trillion to the local governments, which are 78% in Central & Eastern Indonesia to boost infrastructure development in their regions. This is inseparable from the strong support of shareholders and all stakeholders as well as the smart efforts of SMIers (PT SMI employees) in realizing regional development that has encouraged the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia.
