To coincide with World Water Day (HAD), President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Umbulan Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) Project, in Pasuruan Regency, East Java (22/03). Also attending were the Minister of PUPR - Mr. Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Finance - Mrs. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Health - Mr. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and the Governor of East Java - Mrs. Khofifah Indar Parawansa, along with the Deputy Governor of East Java - Mr. Emil Elestianto Dardak.
The Umbulan SPAM project is the first water project built using the Public Private Partnership (KBPU) scheme, and is a National Strategic Project (PSN) with a total investment value of IDR 2.58 trillion. PT SMI as the Ministry of Finance's Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) has provided support for the Umbulan SPAM project since 2011. With the inauguration of the Umbulan SPAM Project, communities in 5 (five) districts and cities in East Java, namely Pasuruan City; Pasuruan Regency; Sidoarjo Regency; Gresik Regency; and the City of Surabaya, will receive clean and quality water for consumption.
In accordance with the theme of the 2021 World Water Day commemoration "Managing Water, Maintaining Life", PT SMI hopes that the high support and synergy from various parties for the Umbulan SPAM PPP Project can be a driving force for project acceleration with the PPP scheme, especially in the drinking water and clean water sector. .
