Ms. Emma Sri Martini, President Director of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (“PT SMI”), and Mr. Nobuyuki Hirano, President of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Mutual Business Cooperation. The MOU was signed on July1st, 2013, at The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo and witnessed by His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Lutfi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia.
Through this MOU signing, both PT SMI and BTMU will establish a comprehensive framework to cooperate in infrastructure financing by combining BTMU’s financing capabilities in hard currency such as Japanese Yen and US Dollars as well as PT SMI’s long-term financing in local currency, both institutions will greater support the clients’ investment in infrastructure projects.
BTMU has a 45 years history in Indonesia with a variety of experiences in supporting clients’ investment into Indonesia and wide customer network. In conjunction with the business alliance with PT SMI, BTMU will contribute to the development of infrastructure development’ businesses in Indonesia.
