PT SMI and Bank Mega Distribute Syndicated Credit to PT INKA Worth IDR 2.1 Trillion

Jakarta, September 9, 2024. PT Bank Mega Tbk (hereinafter referred to as “Bank Mega”) together with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (hereinafter referred to as “PT SMI”) as Joint Mandated Lead Arranger (JMLA) provided a syndicated credit facility to PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) (hereinafter referred to as “INKA”). The signing was carried out by Ferry Oktavianus Mantiri, Credit Business Head of Bank Mega and Anton Prabowo Argo, Corporate Syndication Head of Bank Mega with Benedictus Pudji Hartono, Head of Sustainable Financing Division of PT SMI. The event was also attended by Bank Mega President Director Kostaman Thayib, Bank Mega Credit Director Madi Darmadi Lazuardi and other members of Bank Mega’s Board of Directors, and Director of Finance, HR and Risk Management of PT INKA (Persero) Andy Budiman along with the management of PT SMI and INKA.

The total syndicated credit facility that has been signed by each party is in the form of credit financing of IDR 2.1 trillion, where Bank Mega's financing portion is IDR 1.3 trillion and PT SMI's is IDR 850 billion with a credit financing period of 24 months. The facility will be used by INKA for the procurement of 16 Electric Rail Trainsets (KRL).

Bank Mega Credit Director Madi Darmadi Lazuardi said that the provision of the credit facility is a form of Bank Mega's concern for the development of the domestic transportation industry, especially the national railway sector. "Bank Mega is certainly proud to be actively involved in building a reliable and comfortable public transportation mode, so that this can facilitate the mobilization of people to travel from one place to another which in the end will certainly have an impact on economic growth," said Madi.

Madi further explained that this collaboration is in line with Bank Mega's strategy to focus on distributing financing to sectors or companies with a good reputation and providing great benefits to the community.

Meanwhile, Head of Sustainable Financing Division of PT SMI, Benedictus Pudji Hartono said, this syndicated financing confirms PT SMI's commitment to encourage the provision of sustainable transportation in Indonesia. "We are pleased today together with Bank Mega to be able to support the provision of environmentally friendly transportation modes. Support for PT INKA can not only reduce pollution, but can also reduce existing traffic jams. PT SMI is always open to supporting projects that can reduce carbon emissions, while providing great benefits to the community," said Benedictus. Benedictus also underlined the importance of supporting PT INKA, as the only rolling stock producer in Indonesia. Thus, PT SMI helps increase domestic production capacity, which will ultimately reduce imports.
