2015, SMI Jadi Konsultan 13 Proyek Infrastruktur
PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) has injected IDR 2.9 trillion in funds to PT Waskita Sriwijaya Tol as the Toll Road Business Entity owned by PT Waskita Toll Road. This injection of funds to Waskita Sriwijaya Toll is an investment loan.
This disbursement of funds is stated in the signing of an investment loan facility agreement worth IDR2.9 trillion. This fund will later be used for the completion of the Trans Sumatera Kayu Agung-Palembang-Betung toll road project.
The signing of the agreement was carried out by the President Director of PT WST Herwidiakto, and the Head of Financing Division 2 of PT SMI - Eri Wibowo, who represented the Director of Financing & Investment of PT SMI, at the PT SMI Office on (27/6/2022).

We hope that PT SMI's involvement in providing this investment loan facility can be a catalyst to further encourage regional development and improve the community's economy, as well as open connectivity and accessibility of goods and services on the island of Sumatera," said Head of Financing Division 2 PT SMI Eri Wibowo, citing a statement. official, Wednesday (29/6/2022).
This investment loan facility of PT SMI and PT WST has a tenor of 15 years with a grace period of 60 months. With the acquisition of the investment loan facility, the financing needs of the entire Kapal Betung toll road project have been met.
Previously, the government had also distributed State Equity Participation (PMN) of IDR 3 trillion at the end of 2021 through PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk and PT WTR. And the next PMN of IDR 2 trillion which is planned to be given in 2022.
Accelerate Project
On the same occasion, the President Director of PT WST Herwidiakto, also conveyed the significance of the signing of the investment loan facility for the Kapal Betung toll road section. He believes this can accelerate the project being worked on.
"In addition to maintaining PT WST's commitment to fulfilling obligations to creditors, this investment loan facility can accelerate the process of building the Betung Section II and III Sections. We are working hard so that the Kapal Betung Section can be fully operational immediately so that the benefits can be felt by the community, because in addition to increasing connectivity between regions in Sumatera, the presence of the Kapal Betung Section can also facilitate the flow of goods distribution and industrial centers", explained Herwidiakto.
Kapal Betung Toll Road
Information, the Kapal Betung Toll Road is part of the Trans Sumatera toll road with a total length of 111.69 km. Previously, PT SMI has also provided financial support for the construction of the Trans Sumatera Toll Road in the Medan – Binjai, Palembang – Indralaya, Bakauheni - Terbanggi Besar and Terbanggi Besar - Kayu Agung toll road.
And indirectly participate in financing the equity portion for the construction of the Pekanbaru – Dumai toll road. As for the Kapal Betung toll road, it consists of three (3) sections, namely Kayu Agung – Kramasan, Kramasan – Musilandas, and Musilandas – Betung.
Currently, the operating segment is 42.5 km long, of which the segment has been operating since 2020 and starts tariffs in early 2021, while the construction progress of Sections II and III has reached 35.98 percent and is targeted to be completely completed by 2020. August 2023.
