SMI prepares nearly IDR 1 trillion to pay off two maturing debts

PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) or SMI, an infrastructure financing company owned by the Indonesian Government, has stated its ability to pay two debt securities due in July 2021. The two bonds are in the form of Shelf Registration Sukuk Mudharabah I Phase I 2018 Series A. This 3-year tenor sukuk has a principal amount of IDR 680 billion. Meanwhile, the other debt securities are the Shelf Registration Green Bond I Phase I 2018 Series A. The bonds, which are offered with a fixed interest rate of 7.55%, have a principal amount of IDR 251.5 billion. According to idnfinancials.com data, SMI will also face a number of bonds maturing this year. Some of them are Shelf Registration Bonds II SMI Phase IV Year 2020 Series A worth IDR 1.04 trillion, Shelf Registration Bonds I SMI Phase I 2016 Series B worth IDR 1.33 trillion which will mature in November 2021, and Shelf Registration Bonds I SMI Phase III.
