PT SMI has been adopting Guidelines of a Whistleblowing System (WBS) since 2014. PT SMI has developed a web-based application that lets people report violations to ensure that the application of good corporate governance (GCG) principles remains effective.
Whistleblowing System (WBS) purpose:
With the Whistleblowing System, employees and other stakeholders will be encouraged to report any violations or deviations from code of ethics to the Company's internal authorities. This will help ensure that the Company complies with regulations, standard operating procedures, management policies, and other matters. The system will help protect the Company from being harmed or jeopardized in any way.
Minimize the likelihood that violations stay undetected and unreported.
Increase the Company's employees and other Stakeholders' confidence by providing protections from reprisals and unfair treatment to those who blow the whistle on an infringement.
Supports the establishment of a culture of transparency, accountability, and integrity to improve good corporate governance, internal control, and employee performance.
